I'm for Obama

Those who know me know I hate politicians. I tried the whole Harvey Milk Club thing, but I never felt so uncomfortable. It was like sitting in with a den of cobras and assorted vipers. BTW Martha Knutsen I've not forgotten how you literally pushed me aside and stormed out the room when you lost the Milk presidency. Real classy!

After leaving the Club for good, I changed my registration from Democrat to Decline To State.

Ok all that aside, I hate Hillary & Bill Clinton right now. Yes yes things were better under Bill than Curious [Clueless/Cokehead] George. But blow job aside, weren't there other more serious improprieties too? Didn't someone get killed in the investigation of a scandal? I'm too lazy to google and confirm.

Obama has impressed me. His groundswell support has impressed me. I'm not saying I still don't see him as a politician, but this was the first election in awhile where I felt proud to choose him on the ballot. Unlike say John Kerry who made me ill, but I knew I had to hold my breath and just do it.

Obama represents a true America (or the one I imagine) to me: mixed-race, gives hope, dresses nice, speaks well.

So cut to last night's debate in Texas. Hillary needed to score a homerun to stay viable in the race, she didn't. Future politicians note: do not hire the advisors she has!

Billary tried to give smackdowns but Obama deflected them with a class Ms. Clinton doesn't currently posses. She needed to do something big, and she didn't. People are tired of her same ole same ole, when she tried personal attacks she was boo'd. Obama was smooth and held his own, Clinton did nothing to rise above; she plateued.

I know some have pointed out how Hilly pulled it together in the end. And it's ironic or smart that really what she did was crib her own hubby. Bill Clinton back in '92: "The hits that I took in this election are nothing compared to the hits the people of this state and this country have been taking for a long time." Hillary Clinton, last night: "You know, the hits Ive taken in life are nothing compared to what goes on every single day in the lives of people across our country." (Source) Ironic because it was one of her attack points on Obie; and smart because if the issue is truly dead, then he'd be smart to just leave that alone.

Other notes/thoughts:

The Clintons brought race into the campaign, they tried to point the finger at Obama, but hey its on video. Hillary said that while O likes to compare himself to Martin Luther King, Jr. it took Preseident LBJ to pass the Civil Rights Act." ouch, woman. That just shows how white you are, and how ill prepared your advisors were.

The Clintons went to Black and Latino "leaders" to show they were down, but they went to people who...well...are anachronistic or not well liked: the President of BET, who has many a Black activist angry at him for his dumbing doiwn of the channel to promote the same ole same ole stereotypes as well as abandoning Hollywood to avoid Union scale and setting up in Atlanta; Dolores Huerta & the son of Cesar Chavez, sorry, but those names were relevant back in the day, but most Latinos in the US/Cali are urban dwellers, and Dolores refusing to call Obama by his name [Como se llama?] is just shameful. It just all shows how badly the Clintons are out of touch. They might as well have made public apprearances wearing a rastafari hat and Frida Khalo tshirt. yeesh.

And to those Demos that say they'll vote McCain over Obama if Hillary doesn't win. No surprise. You just continue to prove there is no difference between the Demos & Repubs. The once staunch border between the two parties is now blurred and has been for quite some time.

Ok, now that that's off my chest, time to read comic books!
